Transmutation belongs to the alchemist’s laboratory. The alchemist’s laboratory is the laboratory of nature, and the laboratory of nature is within ourselves, here and now; it is made up of all those utensils which are clearly symbolized in the old alchemical texts. We must study alchemy! Study SENDIVOGIUS, study Niccolo FLAMEL, Raymond LULIO, TREVISANO; study FULCANELLI, who is formidable, and you will see that by means of alchemy you can transform yourself.

In summary we would say: connection of the LINGAM-YONI without ever spilling the GLASS OF HERMES TRISMEGISTUS, the three times great God Ibis of Thot.
As you see, I am giving the key, plain and simple, but in decent language, because when instructing students and speaking about the MYSTERIES OF SEX, one must do so with modesty and in a vivid manner, never in a vulgar style, because that would be very serious: it would say a lot about us, people would be scandalized and would form erroneous concepts about our teachings. Obviously, restrained desire will (completely) transmute the SACRED SPERM into creative energy.
Well, it is convenient for you to know that sexual energy (which is so much talked about today in Physiology, Psychology, Psychoanalysis, etc.) is the very same MERCURY of the medieval Alchemists. This creative energy, transmuted, is the same MERCURY of the wise men.

Alchemy is the “laborious art that allows to convert, through IGNEOUS HUMIDITY, vile metals into Philosophical Mercury or Potable Gold”. Alchemy is one of the oldest sciences, although some scholars consider it more as an “Art”. Its origins go back to the most ancient times of Humanity, when woman and man were intimately united, forming the PRIMORDIAL ANDROGYNE, the ADAM-KADMON of Genesis, that is, the PROTOPLASMIC MAN of the first race that populated the Earth.
More recently, Alchemy was taken from Egypt; it was brought to Europe by the Arabs and was accepted by many medieval monks, by eminent Masters, etc.
Through Alchemy, one learns to create the Mercury of the Wise, with which one can BE BORN FOR THE SECOND TIME and annihilate the “I” of Experimental Psychology.
The Alchemist is an Initiate who works in his own inner laboratory to carry out the “MAGNUS OPUS”, or the “GREAT WORK”.
The Great Work, consequently, is a real, initiatory process, which is possible to live in our psychological space and whose culmination is the advent of the “GOLDEN CHILD” of Alchemy.
According to Master Samael Aun Weor, “the Great Work is, above all, the creation of man by himself, based on conscious work and voluntary suffering. The Great Work is the inner conquest of ourselves, the conquest of our true freedom in God.”
PATIENCE is the Alchemist’s ladder and HUMILITY is the gate to his garden. Anyone who is about to carry out the Great Work must SAY LITTLE, DO A LOT AND ALWAYS KEEP SILENT (such is the rule of conduct of the true philosopher and Alchemist).

THE TWELVE ALCHEMICAL STEPS
FIRST STEP: ROT
The waters are black, symbolized by the BLACK RAVEN. On this first step, the beginner only has the RAW MERCURY.
SECOND STEP: CONJUNCTION
The union of MERCURY and SULFUR (FIRE) is carried out. Now it is necessary to “cook and anneal” until the “opposite natures” are united.
THIRD STEP: SEPARATION
At this stage of the Alchemical work, during the connection or “CHEMICAL COITUS”, the yogi, both male and female, must separate (from such a sacred act) the “POISONOUS SULFUR” (the bestial fire of the abominable “Kundartiguador Organ”) and the “DRY MERCURY” (the “I’s” or psychological defects). This is what is called “REFINING THE SACRAMENT OF LOVE”, separating “the smoke from the flames”, “the subtle from the thick”.
FOURTH STEP: SOLUTION
Mercury has already abandoned the black color and has become a “favorable solution”, ready to receive the SACRED FIRE (here the waters are yellow, symbolized by the YELLOW EAGLE).
FIFTH STEP: CALCINATION
Mercury receives the SACRED FIRE and becomes SULFUR MERCURY, or MERCURIAL SULFUR.
SIXTH STEP: SUBLIMATION
From now on, we must redouble our vigilance, taking care of our practice, so that the darkness does not reappear; that is, we must REFINE the act of love greatly, with the purpose of SUBLIMATING this nature.
SEVENTH STEP: CIBATION
The term “CIBATION”, in rigorous Alchemical Science means that the SULFUR MERCURY or MERCURIAL SULFUR begins to create the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being and give them consistency.
EIGHTH STEP: COAGULATION
At this stage, the SULFUR MERCURY coagulates in our Occult Anatomy, in the form of EXISTENTIAL BODIES: first the Astral, then the Mental and later the Causal.
NINTH STEP: FERMENTATION
At this stage, we must wait for the COMPOUND to ferment, and for it to ferment, it is necessary to DIE IN ONESELF, because otherwise it is not possible to remove the “MERCURIAL OXIDE” (the I’s) from the Bodies. In alchemical language, this process is called “FERMENTATION OF THE YEAST”.
TENTH STEP : EXALTATION
Amidst the “august silence of the wise” the miracle is gradually consummated and the work receives its EXALTATION, by being QUALIFIED. Then the Existential Bodies become PURE GOLD.
ELEVENTH STEP: MULTIPLICATION
Stage of Alchemical work in which the virtues of the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE are acquired. SULFUR MERCURY acts on the worker of the Great Work, revealing ineffable things to him, allowing him to recapitulate Mysteries, etc. In other words, the powers of the Philosopher’s Stone are activated.
TWELFTH STEP: PROJECTION
SULFUR MERCURY can project its force, that is, it manifests its power in any dimension. The ancient Alchemists projected gold through the tips of their fingers, and those atoms were poured into water. Then, with a dropper, drops of that compound were dropped onto molten lead, which was converted into physical gold.

THE PRINCIPLES OF ALL METALS
What is the “NEBULA”, what is the “MACROCOSMIC ARCHÉ”? It is a mixture of Salt, Sulfur and Mercury. And also here, in the MICROCOSMOS-MAN, there is Salt, Sulfur and Mercury. Salt is contained in the Sacred Sperm and is sublimated with transmutations. So in the ARCHÉ of the MICROCOSMOS, there is also Salt, Sulfur and Mercury, and in the ARCHÉ of the MACROCOSMOS, there is also Salt, Sulfur and Mercury.

The principles of all metals are: Salt, Sulfur and Mercury.
SALT is the substance of all things, the beginning and end of all that exists. Let us remember the phrase of Jesus, the Great Kabir: “You are the salt of the Earth…”
Salt acts on Sulphur and Mercury, and the latter make it volatile like them. Salt, in compensation, coagulates and fixes them.
Salt, diluted in a suitable liquor, dissolves solid things and gives them consistency. Salt dissolves our metals, to create with them the “GOLDEN CHILD” of Sexual Alchemy.
SULFUR, in its hidden and subtle state, is FIRE; in its visible and solid state, it is a gaseous and oily principle that indissolubly unites Salt and Mercury. Sulfur, sequentially, has part of the solidity of Salt and part of the volatility of Mercury.
MERCURY is a spiritual liquor, “aerial” and “rare”. Mercury is the “FLYING EAGLE” of Philosophy, Mercury is our “CHAOS”, Mercury is our ENS-SEMINIS.
From a purely physical point of view, SALT is found in urine and sweat; SULFUR is abundant in fats and armpits, and MERCURY is found in blood, marrow, aqueous humor, bones, muscles, etc.
Let us remember that all the books of Alchemy are written in code, and whoever does not know the key to Sexual Magic cannot understand them.
THE THREE TYPES OF MERCURY
First of all, Mercury is nothing more than the “METALLIC SOUL OF SPERM”. In Alchemy, Sperm is “RAW MERCURY”. It is said that with this transmuted Sperm, Mercury is produced, which is the “METALLIC SOUL OF SPERM”.
There are three kinds of Mercury:
First: RAW MERCURY, that is, EXIOHEHALI, the SACRED SPERM.
Second: the “METALLIC SOUL OF THE SPERM”, which is the result of the transmutation of the “LIBIDO”. This “METALLIC SOUL OF THE SPERM” ascends through the ganglionic and spinal cords to the brain.
Third: the highest Mercury: that which has been fertilized by Sulfur. In Alchemy, as has already been said, Sulfur is the SACRED FIRE.
Initially, Mercury is black and is symbolized by the BLACK CROW. Later, Mercury becomes white and is allegorized by the WHITE DOVE. Then, Mercury takes on a yellow color, when it is ready to receive Sulfur, and is symbolized by the YELLOW EAGLE. Later, when Mercury has already been fertilized by Sulfur, when it has become SULFUR-FILLED MERCURY, it is symbolized by the RED PHEASANT. Thus, in this way, the four colors of Alchemy are complemented, symbolized in turn by the THREE WISE MEN and the purple of their royal garments.
THE DIFFERENT NAMES OF MERCURY AND OTHER ASPECTS OF GNOSTIC AND ALCHEMICAL WORK
In order to understand the Mysteries of the Great Work, one needs to receive the DONUM DEI, that is, the GIFT OF GOD. If one has not received the GIFT OF GOD (in order to understand the Science of the Great Work), even if one studies it, one does not understand it, because it turns out that it is not directed to the Intellect: it is directed to the Consciousness. All the Science of the Great Work goes to the Consciousness, it belongs to the functionalisms of the Consciousness.
This semi-liquid, semi-solid substance, this “flexible” and “malleable” Mercury, is sometimes called (simply) “VITRIOL”
The word “VITRIOL” in turn means:
“VISITA INTERIOREM TERRA E RECTIFICANDO INVENIES OCULTUM LAPIDEM”, that is, “VISIT THE INTERIOR OF THE EARTH, WHICH BY RECTIFYING YOU WILL FIND THE HIDDEN STONE.”
The “interior of the earth” that we must “visit” is our PHILOSOPHICAL EARTH , our own laboratory or physical body. “RECTIFY” in its deepest sense means ELIMINATING OUR ERRORS, our psychological defects, and the “HIDDEN STONE” is sex, the “STONE THAT THE BUILDERS REJECTED” , etc.
For their part, Basilio Valentín, Raimundo Lulio and Arnoldo Villanueva, call Mercury “AZOTH”, while other ancient alchemists give it the strange name of “SEA OF THE PHILOSOPHERS”.
The “DISOLVENT ”, also called “ALKAEST”, is the “ENS-SEMINIS” fertilized by the “ENS-VIRTUTIS” of the Fire.
“FIRED HUMIDITY” is also called “igneous moisture” because that water is the dwelling place of fire. Certainly, that FIERY WATER or DAMP FIRE is capable of dissolving and coagulating base metals into subtle metals. “FIRED HUMIDITY” is the KUNDALINI.
The “PHILOSOPHICAL MERCURY” is the one who has received SULFUR, and for this reason it is called “SULFUR MERCURY”.
Other terms that the applicant should know are the following:
“POTABLE GOLD” or “GOLD THAT CAN BE DRINKABLE” or “LIQUID GOLD”: SULFUR MERCURY. “POTABLE GOLD”, in itself, is the KUNDALINI.
ARCHEUS: Translated, it means “THE ANCIENT ONE” and is applied to the oldest manifested Deity. It is also used in Kabbalah, translated as “ARCHAIC”, “OLD”, “ANTIQUE”. In reality, the “ARCHEUS” (or “ARCHÉ”) is the formative power of nature, the power that divides the elements and structures them into organic parts. The “ARCHEUS” is the principle of life, the primordial and unique substance.
“VEGETABLE MAGNESIA”: is the raw material.
“ELIXIR”: the mercury of the Wise, capable of granting long life, longevity.
“SCALY DRAGON”: the Ens-Séminis, the Mercury.
“PHILOSOPHICAL GOLD”: Sulfur Mercury.
“THE BULL” : also symbolizes Mercury (in its superior aspect, because in its inferior aspect it symbolizes the Ego).
“VILE, BLACK AND STINKING STONE”: raw Mercury.
“WINE OF THE WISE”: Mercury that has already received Sulfur.
“MATERIAL OF THE WISE”: RAW MERCURY, the first type of Mercury.
“BLACK MINERAL”: Another of the many names given to the first type of Mercury.
“OUR STEEL”: Title with which the Alchemists designated Mercury, to hide the royal key from the profane and profaners, and to demonstrate that therein lies strength and power.
” BLACK MINERAL” : Mercury in a chaotic state, black as coal.
“ALCHEMICAL CHAOS” : The first type of Mercury.
* “MAGNESIUM”: Union of Sulfur with Mercury, marvelous synthesis with which a preparation is made that dissolves “DRY MERCURY”, the “psychic aggregates” that constitute the Ego.
“INNER MAGNESIUM” : The Intimate Christ, the “GOLDEN CHILD” of Alchemy.
“PHILOSOPHICAL AMALGAM” : Fertilization that Sulfur performs on Mercury, every time we enter to work in the laboratorium-oratorium.
THE “SYCAMORE” : These are the sexual forces that we must transmute in our Alchemist laboratory.
THE RED LION : The fire already prepared, that of the Adept or Initiate.
THE GREEN LION : The incipient fire, in a state of preparation: that of the neophyte, “CHELA”, disciple or beginner.
THE ALCHEMICAL PROCEDURE : Our Sperm unites with the organism itself, called “MOTHER-EARTH” by the Alchemists, and this union of the Ens-Seminis is what is called “COITUS” in Sexual Alchemy. If our Stone (Semen) is not placed in the womb of the female (Mother-Earth), so that it may be nourished, it will not grow.
The Science of our Magisterium is a whole comparable to the procreation of man: first, COITUS; second, CONCEPTION; third, IMBIBITION; fourth, BIRTH; fifth, NUTRITION or FEEDING.
Thus, when our organism has retained the Ens-Seminis, it is said that “there has been CONCEPTION” ; when the “sexual juices” are assimilated by our organism, after having withdrawn from the female, we say that there is IMBIBITION . Then the FERMENT coagulates in our organism (or imperfect body) and then we say that “there is CONCEPTION” . Then comes the birth of our KING (the INTIMATE CHRIST) and comes the NOURISHMENT : the SUN-KING is nourished with his own “MILK”, which is the same SACRED SPERM that engendered him. The more nourished he is, the better, because then the CHILD will grow rapidly and will be fortified and robust in an all-round way.
“RAYASANA” : Hindu name of Alchemy, the Way of Mercury.
“DRY WAY” or “DIRECT WAY” : Path that leads directly to the ABSOLUTE, as opposed to the “HUMID WAY” or “PATH OF THE NIRVANIC SPIRAL”. The “Dry Way” demands very arduous work from the Adept in the “Crucible” of Alchemy (sex). On this Path, the work is done all at once, and for this reason it is also called the “FAST WAY” , but it is more painful.
In the “Dry Way”, the Alchemist must keep his matter in constant FUSION, and work with the “ DISOLVENT MERCURY” or “SULFUR MERCURY” , disintegrating with it his “undesirable elements” or “DEFECT-SELVES”, until none remain alive.
This path is known as the “WAY OF SATURN” ; it is the Path of total renunciation, where the creator of the Great Work carries out the TWELVE LABOURS OF HERCULES.
This Path is covered in many years of constant voluntary work and suffering, but the last stage lasts EIGHT YEARS , corresponding to the “EIGHT YEARS OF JOB” or “JOB’S INITIATION” . The “Wet Way”, meanwhile, is covered in 18 MONTHS (speaking in the esoteric sense).
“SOLUTION” or “DISSOLUTION” : speaking in rigorous synthesis, it means “to separate the subtle from the thick”, so that Mercury can be refined and then fused perfectly with Sulfur, thus giving rise to a unique and excellent “matter”, that is: The “ARCHEUS”.
THE CROSS: This is the alchemical hieroglyph of the CRUCIBLE (CREUSET), which was formerly called in French “CRUZOL”, “CRUCÍBILE” and “CROISET”. The word “CRUCIBLE” had, as its root, “CRUX”, “CRUCIS” or “CROSS”. And indeed, it is in the CRUCIBLE where the raw material (like Christ himself) suffers its passion. It is in the CRUCIBLE where it dies, to be resurrected later, already purified (see “The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac”).
“BATH”: synonym of “ABLUTION” . The allegorical “BATHS” of the KING and the QUEEN are nothing other than a call to TRANSMUTATION. In ancient times it was said that “the total number of BATHS that the King and the Queen should take, amounted to 282” (2 + 8 + 2 = 12, or what is the same: the TWELVE KEYS of Basil Valentine, the TWELVE LABOURS OF HERCULES, the TWELVE PLANETARY SPHERES, etc.)
“ATHANOR” : THE ALCHEMICAL FURNACE OF SECRETS”, the WIFE-PRIESTESS.
“SOROR MISTICA” : THE “SISTER” THE PRIESTESS.
“ROYAL WEDDING” : union of the masculine principle (the SUN ) with the feminine principle (the MOON ) … “But when we marry the King and the Queen, with a gentle and harmless fire, she alone conceives an excellent and supernatural son. “ALCHEMIST AND MYSTIC SOROR, would then give rise to the ORIGINAL ANDROGYNE (called the ROYAL INFANT ), who possesses the characteristics of both.”
Aristotle says, in “LIGHT OF LIGHTS”, that “Mercury must be cooked in a triple vessel of very hard glass”
The container should be round, with a small neck (this “container” is the male member).
Within our sexual organs is the SEMEN which is the raw material of the Great Work.
The Alchemists point out that “our glass must be placed in another closed vessel, as hermetically sealed as the first…”
THE “GOLDEN CHILD” OF ALCHEMY: the INTIMATE CHRIST, the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE, the DIVINE SPIRIT (HORUS), always covered with a marvelous “metallic envelope”. This “metallic envelope” is the Superior Existential Bodies of the Being, or “Solar Bodies”.
“ANDROGYNOUS”: In the Middle Ages, the union of SULFUR and MERCURY was symbolized by a KING whose half was female and the other half male. The DIVINE ANDROGYNOUS was also symbolized by two DRAGONS with their tails joined together and biting each other.
VIRGIN-MOTHER (or GOD-MOTHER) : In France, the Alchemists called her simply NOTRE-DAME, and that is what they called the Gothic Cathedral in Paris. The Italians, in Sicily, give the churches the expressive name of “MATRICES”. All are, therefore, churches or Temples dedicated to the MOTHER, without whose help the alchemist cannot carry out the Great Work. She is the “MATRON” in its most primitive sense.
“ELEMENTAL MATTER”: Curiously, the word “MATTER” comes from the Latin “MATEREA”, whose root is “MATER”, “MOTHER”. The “ELEMENTAL MATTER” is, therefore, the VIRGIN-MOTHER, stripped of her symbolic veil; it is the personification of the primordial substance. According to the Alchemical language, “THE VIRGIN IS THE VESSEL THAT CONTAINS THE SPIRIT OF THINGS” (VAS SPIRITUALE), “filled with a celestial liquor (Astral), composed of one third of wild honey and one part of water from heaven…” The Alchemical secret, the Mystery, is therefore in the VESSEL.
BLACK VIRGIN: (VIRGINIS PARTITURAE), the Virgin who must be turned into a Mother.
THE CHRIST : Principle that cannot, in any way, be anthropomorphized, but must always be considered as a “PSYCHOLOGICAL PROTOTYPE OF PERFECTION”.
SULFUR AND MERCURY, AS AUTONOMOUS PARTS, SELF-CONSCIOUS OF OUR OWN BEING : The Sulfur and Mercury of the wise, represented by MICHAEL (the SOLAR SPIRIT) and GABRIEL (the LUNAR ANGEL) , produce total transformation: the luminous powers are recovered and even the physical body of the Initiate becomes a vehicle of the Lord.
MIGUEL and GABRIEL are two self-conscious and self-independent parts of our own Being, skilled in the Science of Alchemy. Just as MIGUEL and GABRIEL exist in the Macrocosm, they also exist within the Microcosm of Man.
MIGUEL and GABRIEL carry the ray of Christic Light, MIGUEL and GABRIEL, the Sulfur and the Mercury, cross incessantly with each other, to give rise to the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE.
Of Sulphur and Mercury we can say, finally, that we find them united in the raw material, and that the function of the Artist will be, precisely, to separate them in order to obtain the Sulphur, which will be the objective of the FIRST WORK; then, he will repeat the operation to prepare the Mercury, which will be the end of the SECOND WORK, in order to be able to unite them again (the Mercury and the Sulphur), during the THIRD WORK, thus obtaining, or resulting from it, the HERMAPHRODITE, the “REBIS”, or “DOUBLE THING”, whose final cooking will lead to the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE.
Let us remember that: “THE ONLY PURPOSE OF NATURE IS TO CONVERT MINERALS INTO GOLD” .
ANTIMONY : autonomous and self-conscious part of our own being, in charge of fixing the GOLD of the Existential Bodies. According to VM Samael Aun Weor, whose work is rooted in the purest Alchemical tradition, “the Resurrection of the Intimate Christ in the heart of Man could not be verified, as long as these Bodies have not all been converted into Vehicles of Pure Gold.”
“GRAY WOLF” : strange name that Basilio Valentín gave to ANTIMONY.
THE “CHRYSOPEIA” : transmutation of any metal into Gold.
THE “ARGIROPEIA” : transmutation into silver.
“RED ELIXIR” : is the purest Gold of the Spirit, it is the “TREE OF LIFE”.
“WHITE ELIXIR” : is the “TREE OF THE SCIENCE OF GOOD AND EVIL”.
“MAGISTERIO” : From the Latin “MAGISTERIUM” . It is the Great Work of the one who has achieved Mastery, it is the practical application of that same mastery.
The Masters of Sexual Alchemy, in a MAGISTERIAL function, teach the following: “Let your Fire be calm and gentle, let it remain that way every day, without weakening, always uniform; if not, it will cause great harm. It is necessary to COOK, COOK AND ANNEALING, AND NOT GET TIRED OF IT…”
“REINCRUDATE” : is to give strength back to the metals that have been worked. This work is done with Mercury, and must be understood in the sense of returning to the “NINTH SPHERE”. Such is the case of some Self-Realized Masters, who need to consume the “MANA OF THE DESERT” again to keep their Solar Bodies in shape.
“REGIME” : Alchemists say that “the good progress of the Work depends exclusively on the REGIME OF FIRE. Referring to this, some Alchemists consider it convenient to use the following: “begin the Work in WINTER, that is to say” with SLOW FIRE; then reinforce it in SUMMER, that is to say, increase the Fire, and reap the fruits in AUTUMN, that is to say, conquer Mastery later.” In other words: it is good to DISSOLVE in Winter (working slowly at the beginning, to see the color), COOK in Spring (doubling the Fire to fertilize the Mercury), and COAGULATE the Fire in Summer, in order to fix the Gold when the mixture of Mercury and Sulfur is duly refined.
“WHEEL” : represents the steps that are taken in the Alchemical work. The work in the Great Work clearly makes the wheel turn many times.
RAM : Symbol of Sulfur.
“GOLDEN FLEECE”: according to the language of “PISTIS SOPHIA”, it is the “TREASURE OF LIGHT” . The “Golden Fleece” is the symbol of the Great Work. In this sense, the story of JASON and the ARGONAUTS is highly symbolic: it represents the work that the Alchemist must do to conquer that “Golden Fleece”, which is ultimately the PHILOSOPHER’S STONE, the RESURRECTED CHRIST.
“THE “SALAMANDER-WOMAN”: is the BUDDHIST OR INTUITIONAL BODY, the SOUL-SPIRIT, the sixth body mentioned in Eastern Theosophy. It is BUDDHI-EROS, the Superlative Consciousness of the Being, the Valkyrie, the SHULAMITA of “THE SONG OF SONGS” of the Wise Solomon; it is the BEAUTIFUL HELEN of Greek Mythology; the wife of LOT; it is the DIAMOND SOUL, etc.
“THE CITY OF FAITH” : LOWER EGYPT, THE WAY OF PETER; it also represents the sexual organs.

It should be noted that, according to Tradition, the “EMERALD TABLET” would have been engraved with a diamond tip on a sheet of emerald, from which its name comes.
THE CHANGE OR TRANSFORMATION OF NATURES, ACCORDING TO FULCANELLI
Below we transcribe three Alchemical postulates whose profound significance the aspirant must capture.
1). “CHANGE NATURES AND YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.”
2). “THE MONKEY IMITATES MAN, MAN MUST IMITATE NATURE, IMITATE NATURE AND YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.”
3). “NATURE CONTAINS NATURE, NATURE IS HAPPY WITH NATURE, NATURE DOMINATES NATURE AND TRANSFORMS INTO OTHER NATURES.”
What does FULCANELLI, the extraordinary author of “The Philosophical Dwellings” and “The Mystery of the Cathedrals” tell us? He says:
“Nature does not open the door of the Sanctuary to all without distinction. Mysterious science requires great precision, accuracy and perspicacity in the observation of facts; a healthy, logical and balanced spirit; a lively imagination, without exaltation; an ardent and pure heart.
It also requires great simplicity and absolute indifference to theories, systems and hypotheses. By the constant exercise of the faculties of observation and reasoning (objective), by meditation, the neophyte will climb the steps that lead to KNOWLEDGE. The naive imitation of natural processes, skill combined with ingenuity, the lights of long experience, will assure him POWER. Being able to carry out, he still needs patience, constancy, and an unbreakable will. Bold and resolute, the certainty and confidence born of a robust faith will allow him to DARE in everything.
Finally, when success has consecrated so many years of work, when his desires or wishes have been fulfilled, the Wise Man – despising the vanities of the world – will approach the humble, the disinherited, all those who work, suffer, struggle, despair and cry here below. Anonymous and mute disciple of eternal Nature, apostle of eternal Charity, he will remain faithful to his vow of silence. In science, in good, the Adept must always BE SILENT…”
THE “OPEN BOOK” AND THE “CLOSED BOOK”
In Alchemy, the OPEN BOOK has an extraordinary meaning. The meaning of the OPEN BOOK, characterized by the radical solution of the metallic body, which abandons all its impurities and gives up its Sulfur, is profoundly significant.
“CLOSED BOOK” is the general symbol of all raw materials (minerals or metals), as Nature provides them to us, or as human industry delivers them to commerce.
RAW MERCURY : that is, the SACRED SPERM not yet worked, is a “CLOSED BOOK” (we need to open that “BOOK”)
From another angle, the OPEN BOOK is the Book of the Law, of Justice.
JUSTICE, LION, SCALE AND SWORD are closely associated. JUSTICE, within us, is a self-conscious part of the Being. JUSTICE, within us, must be intimately Self-Realized.
MINERVA (daughter of Jupiter), within us and as an autonomous and self-conscious part of the Being, is the cardinal Virtue of Justice. MINERVA: Goddess of Wisdom and Lady of Justice, is the FLOWER OF THE GREAT WORK, the MYSTIC ROSE.
THE PATTERN OF THE GREAT WORK AND “THE APOCALYPSE” :
Whoever studies the UNIVERSAL EPISTLE OF JAMES will understand the principles of the Great Work. The FATHER OF ALL LIGHTS, through our inner Santiago, teaches us the Mysteries of the Great Work.
Santiago is therefore one of the autonomous and self-conscious parts of our own Being. “SANTIAGO -MERCURY” is closely related to the TRANSMUTATORY SCIENCE of JESOD -MERCURY.
The fundamental Book of the Great Work, which Santiago carries in his hands, is “THE APOCALYPSE”. Unquestionably, “THE APOCALYPSE” is the Book of Wisdom that is only comprehensible to the Alchemists. Only the workers of the Great Work can understand “THE APOCALYPSE”.
In HIGHER CHEMISTRY (that is, in Alchemy), the secret Science of “THE APOCALYPSE” is found. The laws of HIGHER CHEMISTRY or ALCHEMY, as well as the principles and order of the MAGISTERIUM OF FIRE, are deposited in “THE APOCALYPSE”.
Santiago, within each one of us, is (I repeat) the blessed Patron of the Great Work.
Each one of us has his own Santiago.
THE TWO KEYS OF PETER
Peter has the KEYS OF THE KINGDOM (one of Gold and one of Silver. These two keys (crossed) are the Sulfur and the Mercury of the Wise. Sulfur is the sexual fire; Mercury is the METALLIC SOUL of the Sacred Sperm. Mercury must fertilize the
Mercury of the Wise, before beginning the ascent of the SULFUR MERCURY through the medullar-spinal canal.
Sulfur and Mercury open the doors to the different regions of the Universe. Sulfur and Mercury, although opposites, are reconciled by SUBLIMATED SALT. Sulfur and Mercury are the PARENTS of the Philosopher’s Stone.
Peter, the Hierophant of Sex, within us is an autonomous and self-conscious part of our own Being.
Peter, within each one of us, is that part of our Being that understands the Mysteries of Sex.
* THE “STRONG FORCE OF ALL FORCE”: Strong is he who becomes strong in Sexual Magic. He who has never worked in the “Forge of the Cyclops” is frighteningly weak. Sexual energy is the “STRONG FORCE OF ALL FORCE”
The MISTERIUM MAGNUM of the Universe resides in its seed, in its “ILIASTER” , and very especially in its “LIMBUS MAGNUS”.
The “MYSTERIUM” of a tree resides in its germ; the “MYSTERIUM” of a man resides in his SEED.
He who does not work with the MISTERIUM MAGNUM fails in the Great Work. The MISTERIUM MAGNUM of sex is terribly Divine.
THE INNER ANDRES AND THE THREE FACTORS OF THE REVOLUTION OF CONSCIOUSNESS
In the light of Alchemical Science, it is appropriate that we study the three factors of the Revolution of Consciousness.
ANDRES, within us, is that autonomous and self-conscious part of our own Being that deals with the three factors of the Revolution of Consciousness. These three factors are: TO BE BORN, TO DIE AND TO SACRIFICE ONESELF FOR HUMANITY.
The CROSS of St. Andrew is often terribly painful. Mercury and Sulphur must be CROSSED incessantly if we wish to continue with the Great Work.
The sufferings of the Initiate, crucified on the cross of Andrew, are unspeakable.
It is not possible to purify and perfect the MERCURIAL BODIES if we renounce the disintegration of “DRY MERCURY”.
“DRY MERCURY” is crystallized in the “psychic aggregates”, a living personification of our psychological defects (to delve deeper into this point, we recommend reading the book “PISTIS SOPHIA” REVEALED, on page 50 and following)…
THE GNOSTIC AND ALCHEMICAL TRUTH:
Truth is “the unknown from moment to moment.” In the ABYSS, Truth is disguised as darkness ( DEMONIUS EST DEUS INVERSUS ; THE DEVIL IS GOD IN REVERSE). HELL, sequentially, is the MATRIX OF HEAVEN. THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE, the STONE OF TRUTH, must be sought in hell (LUCIFER is the best friend we have).
Truth, then, springs forth from Hell, it comes out of the monster of the Earth. Every TREASURE is hidden in the bowels of the Earth, and the “GOLDEN FLEECE” is no exception.
